Episode: Kung Fu Kid [SPOILER ALERT]

I saw the KFP: LOA episode "Kung Fu Kid" a while ago, and was surprised to learn that Peng is Tai Lung's nephew.
A while later I got to thinking, and wondering how Peng came to know that Tai Lung was his uncle. As far as I understand it, Tai Lung was an orphan with no biological family whatsoever (as shown in the first Kung Fu Panda movie), and after he lost his temper after being refused the title of the Dragon Warrior, he was sent to Chorh-Gom (sp?) prison. Did Tai Lung discover Peng as his nephew while he was still living with Shifu at the Jade Palace?
Just a thought that occurred to me, and I thought it'd be interesting to hear other people's thoughts on this. XD

I heard of this episod (I don't watch the series) and it kind of disturb me : wasn't it Shifu who gave Tai Lung his name? I read somewhere its meaning was "great dragon", so it would make sense. ^^;

Anyway, how could someone know this name and still be ignorant of Tai Lung's story? I mean, Peng should know at least one part of it : the fact that Tai Lung was raised at the Jade Palace, or the twenty years he spent in Chorh-Gom!... not to mention his defeat against the Dragon Warrior. And- and what is it with the way Peng's searching for his "uncle"? As I said, I didn't see this episod, but the summary on Kung Fu Panda Wikia mentions that he only asks Po about him. Only one person in a whole valley. Good luck for your quest, kid. XD

... just saying that I don't consider this canon material. ^^; It's like in the fanfictions where Po's parents call their baby "Po", it doesn't make sense. They're adoption names. =/

Or maybe it's a confusion and there's another snow leopard called Tai Lung? XD

(I hope that, despite my bad english, I'm understable. Sorry about the mistakes, I do my best but I know it's not enough. =/)

Those are good points, and I don't really blame you for not considering it canonical. I kind of don't either, which is why I take all of the episodes I see with a grain of salt.
But yeah, it's just strange; even if Peng did hear about all that stuff that happened with Tai-Lung (which he certainly should have), I don't know how he'd figure that it was his uncle. And yeah, if Shifu gave him the name "Tai Lung" and not his biological parents, it's kinda strange that Peng would know even that much (that his uncle was re-named or whatever.)
I'm assuming, from watching the end of the episode, that Peng really was supposed to be Tai Lung's nephew...but again, canon. XD
And don't worry, your English is great! =)

Well, let just say the writers were tired and wanted to go home? XD Or maybe be it'll be justified in a future episod. Wait and see!

Though I really hope Tai Lung's biological family will never interfere in the canon. I don't know, I don't feel like it's something necessary to put into his background, it's not what he is. ^^;

... oh wait, I just thought of something. If Peng is Tai Lung's nephew and knows he's got an uncle called like this, does it mean that his own father or mother wasn't abandonned? Er, I mean, Tai Lung must have got a brother or a sister — why abandonning one child and not the other? Or why don't abandon the two at the same place?
Even if this brother/sister was born later and raised by his/her bilogical parents, it'd mean he/she heard about Tai Lung by the said parents, who then should remember where they left the baby. O_O

No matter how I look at it, it's weird! XD

Totally agree; it's weird no matter which way you slice it. XD
I'm *sure* it has something to do with the writers wanting to go home (lol.) After all, there's no way they'd expect viewers to look extremely deep into it. Maybe they included it as a last-minute surprise to the episode, not really giving thought to anything else other than "the fans will like this," or something.
